Yellow & Green is an Autobiography About Agoraphobia and Angst

Marcy Chen is a self confessed agoraphobic and her Yellow & Green: Not an Autobiography of Marcy Chen sure does seem like an angst filled autobiography of her living with Agoraphobia.

Leave Angst Behind

Leave Angst Behind

I looked up Agoraphobia and the description does show how much angst and anxiety an agoraphobic person must endure daily, when even the simplest tasks become a terrifying event. But don’t be satisfied with just a cold and clinical description of the condition of agoraphobia. Try walking a mile in an agoraphobic’s trembling shoes, or better still, experience an autobiographical year of angst with an agoraphobic in Yellow & Green: Not an Autobiography of Marcy Chen

(Unrelated and irrelevant note: I have to laugh sometimes at Google’s interpretation of ‘relevant’. Seemingly, my use of the keyword ‘autobiography’ equals ‘Auto parts’ and ‘Angst’ is an opportunity to publish ads in the German language.)

The Angst Lipstick Traces Inspires

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

I read a reader review of Lipstick Traces by Kathlea Azzurra Rowland and angst was the word that stood out in my mind. According to this angst filled review, in Lipstick Traces, Twenty-year old Miss Z has run away to be with a rock star known as B. As she follows him around the world, she suffers angst in hopes of saving him from himself and his darkness. In trying to save him, she loses herself. Miss Z becomes so caught up in wanting to believe false promises – what I truly feel her heart knows. As she desperately tries to hang on to his promises of eternal love, she sees him acting in ways that do not reflect his words. She also becomes caught up in the angst causing musician lifestyle of sex, drugs and rock and roll.
