“All my life I have been a perfectionist. I never really looked at it as a bad thing. Like most moms, I was holding myself up to a ridiculously higher standard than I expected from anyone else in my life. But I took it over-the-top, because it was a standard too high to ever actually reach. The best I could hope for was to constantly fall short of my goals. I continued on this path of expecting perfection, but always getting less, for several years. It was not until I was 35 years old that I had an epiphany about my perfectionist ways. Actually, I had breast cancer.”

Through her experience, as well as the stories of other recovering perfectionists, you will learn; why perfectionists do what they do, the negative and sometimes secret consequences of living a “perfect” life, life-changing “A-Ha” Moments from recovering perfectionists, and you will gain strategies for overpowering your own perfectionism or helping the perfectionists in your life to recover.

“God protected me from a lot of bad decisions and men. Thank You God. See that’s why I love Him so much! Who else is willing to protect you from danger like that? And live up to that protection. He doesn’t just say He will, He does it.” – Natalie M Lewis

We are certainly all getting older. Time has a way of doing that. At least chronologically we must get older but purging the body of toxins while also healing the mind of old wounds, a person can defy the onset of age.

But wisdom does not come automatically, as Natalie M Lewis points out. Read about getting older and wiser in To all my Sisters in the Struggle. You can find To All My Sisters in The Struggle by Clicking My Lit Store in the column to your right. I hope you are getting wiser as well as naturally older day-by-day.
